Summer
While the summer provides a well-deserved break for our scholars, we firmly believe that learning should never stop, which is why our Summer Academy and Summer Reading programs have been put into place.
Summer Academy at Herron Classical Schools is a partnership with the Harrison Center for the Arts. The Summer Academy experience affords your student the opportunity to gain mastery of the core content with an infusion of the arts as it relates to the curriculum. This combination will ensure your student’s progress at Herron Classical Schools during the academic year. Students may be assigned to Summer Academy in order to recover credits toward graduation or take courses to get ahead by signing up online or with a counselor.
Scholars enrolled at Herron-Riverside High School will read and annotate an engaging and challenging text that corresponds to their upcoming grade level for the 2023-24 school year. Summer reading strongly supports Herron Classical Schools’ ongoing mission to prepare students for college, engage in critical thinking, and develop world-class citizens. Summer reading also helps combat summer learning loss and better prepares students for a strong start at the beginning of the new school year.
